In a message overlaid on the video, the user said: “My parents used to read Winnie the Pooh books to me when I was little. I gave them a new copy [of the book] with a special message inside. ‘Hoping you can read this book to our little baby soon.'”

The video showed the mother looking shocked after unwrapping what appeared to be a book and opening it before going over to hug her daughter.

The clip later showed the dad looking inside the same book, which contained a photo of a smiling couple holding up a pregnancy test kit.

A December 2020 study in the Journals of Gerontology: Series B found “becoming a grandparent has a positive effect on well-being only among women who became grandmothers for the first time and via their daughters.”

The study found that “this effect is particularly strong in the proximity of the birth of the grandchild,” while “no effects were found among first-time grandfathers.”

In a 2018 survey by the nonprofit AARP (American Association of Retired Persons), the average age of a first-time grandparent was found to be 50 (a two-year increase since 2011), while the youngest grandparent was reported to be 38 years old.

The study stated that most grandparents have four to five grandchildren, on average, and by 2030, more than 70 percent of eight-year-olds in the U.S. will have a living great-grandparent.

The latest video has melted the hearts of TikTok users, with many amused by how shocked the dad appeared to be in the clip.

User melissab5310 agreed, stating: “Dad was in shock [crying floods of tears emojis], while Meggan Dyer said: “Dad’s Whole Heart, so sweet [floating hearts smiley face emoji].”

When user3066073901271 asked: “How come it’s always the dads left in the background trying to figure it out,” the original poster replied: “He was supposed to open the gift with her but timing got a little messed up [crying laughing emoji].”

User rebeccatitular wrote: “goosebumps and tears of joy [floating hearts smiley face and teary eyed face emojis],” while Charlottetrebnik simply said: “Precious!! [crying laughing, floating hearts and white teeth showing smiley face emojis].”
