
Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Police have informed that the entire force will be deployed to maintain the law and order of Kerala on Friday in view of the hartal announced by Popular Front of India.
Those who forcefully close shops will be arrested. Even preventive arrests will be used if necessary, it said in a statement. DGP Anil Kant has given the direction to take strong action to maintain peace, it said.
Range DIG, zonal IG, ADGP (law and order) are entrusted with overseeing the preparations.
Meanwhile, KSRTC has announced that it will conduct services as usual on Thursday. The corporation will seek police protection if necessary.
PFI announced a dawn to dusk hartal on Friday against the widespread raids at its offices and also the arrests of its leaders. “A hartal will be observed in the state on September 23 against the RSS-controlled fascist government’s attempt to silence dissenting voices using the central agencies,” A Abdul Sathar, state general secretary, PFI, said.
A total of 106 Popular Front of India (PFI) cadres were arrested on Thursday in a joint operation conducted by the National Investigation Agency, Enforcement Directorate and state police forces across 11 states in the country’s multiple locations, according to the sources.
